""Envision Innisfail is a project which seeks to explore the values and possibilities that exist in Innisfail to make it an even better place to live, work and play.

Beginning in the spring of 2009, the Community Services Panel began working with Shared Meaning Consultants to begin a public consultative process exploring the values and actions important to the residents of Innisfail.  An Advisory Group was formed.  This group (residents representing a cross section of the community) were responsible for guiding the process.

The purpose of Envision Innisfail was to engage Town of Innisfail residents in:

  • developing a unified vision for the future based on the hopes and dreams of the community
  • discovering the values that are important to the community

Throughout the year there were various opportunities and forums for residents to get involved in this project. These included:
- Creation of the Envision Innisfail website including an Expression of Opinion Survey
- Use of the local newspaper to advertise the website, survey and focus groups
- Two Community Summits (October 2009 and January 2010), open to all, at which the consultants led the group through a process to help discover what the key values were
- And finally in June 2010 a Celebration and Launch of the Envision Innisfail Tool Kit

The final Envision Innisfail Document is scheduled to be completed in August 2010.
